This dory style sailboat was built in a small wood shop in my yard. It took ten months to build and would never have happened had it not been for the folks at Chesapeake Light Craft and their assistance.

Designed by Mike Roberts of Headland Bay Boats in Brisbane, Australia. This is the Eve (short for “Evolution”) 16, a strip plank bottom and glued lapstrake sides, based on the same designers Green Island 15 Stitch and Glue version.Sail area is a gunter rig of about 106 sq. ft.
Customized Wee Lassie IIThe canoe was built in 2009. The overall dimensions are of the Wee Lassie scale with the modification made adding 1″ in height to the gunnel. Length 13′4″.The hull is made from Western Red Cedar in continuous strips (not scarf jointed from smaller pieces).
Customized Solo PortageThe canoe was completed in 2013. The overall dimensions are of the Solo Portage scale with the modifications made by adding both an inner and outer stem in the bow and stern.The boat is designed as a single blade paddle canoe. The length is 14′6″.

These sectional canoes were made of plywood and fiberglass. When it was being carried to the Torch Lake in Michigan, four parts stayed in the trunk of my car and one part in the back seat. It turned into the whole canoe in a couple of minutes before hitting the clear water of the lake.
