Virginia Park

Virginia Park is an elegant lapstrake launch. Featured in WoodenBoat #234, Sept. – Oct. 2013, Virginia Park is built in the glued lapstrake method with steam bent frames. It features a short forward deck, aft deck with splash well for the outboard, a center console and a helmsman seat with a backrest. The curved coaming makes it a head turning classic launch. Powered by a 15hp, 4 stroke outboard it will do 16 knots and at cruising speed only consumes 1/2 gal. of fuel per hour. The plans are 10 sheets and include lines, construction plans and sections, console and engine box, keel and sole details, table of offsets, and materials list. Also included are full size patterns for mold sections, transom and stem. You can build this boat without lofting.
