THALAS 13'

The THALAS 13' project was inspired by Whitehall, the most classical and elegant American row boat of the XIX century, but obviously it is a very different boat for hull lines - which have been modified to facilitate construction - and for its weight, which has been greatly reduced thanks to the adoption of modern construction methods. The narrow water lines allow excellent rowing performance and the V shaped bottom ensures regular speed rate and wave penetration. No centerboard has been considered because in this boat the sail has an auxiliary function and it is foreseen above all for down wind sailing. In any case, even without a centerboard, the boat is able - under favourable conditions - to go up wind without difficulty. The plans include also a version with a centerboard and include all the details for building the board and the trunk. More information at: www.bcademco.it
