Oar / Paddle

ONDINA

ONDINA is a kayak with little compromise and intended for those who wish to experience long excursions at sea. It is pleasant to row, quite stable and above all, fast. The ratio between waterline length and beam of more than 9, shows its speed potential. Flairing in the top sides affords good "secondary" stability, while initial stability is moderate. The design required a considerable study, particularly for planking, in order obtain into proper shapes suitable for construction in plywood. The plans are available also for the strip planking construction: this version has hull characteristics which are quite different and make it more suitable as an expedition kayak rather than a speed kayak. The construction is more difficult than the chine version, but may produce fine aesthetic results. More information at: www.bcademco.it
