Oar / Paddle

Joansa

I wanted to go for a very gentle holiday, and had only 6 weeks until it was time to head out.  No boat, so I sat down, thought about the open water between shelter, the amount of camping gear I would carry, and the other members of the family who would wish to come along on other trips away.Joansa is based loosely upon the Chaisson dory skiff, a seaworthy lightweight dory native to New England, this lightweight plywood version with her simple construction and nice looks is a worthy successor to the original. We carried her on the roofrack of a tiny Toyota Starlet, I could carry her on my shoulder when taking her to the water and did many many miles in rivers and estuaruies as well as lakes before I moved on to the next project, I even raced her with considerable success.Yes, the holiday was great thanks!More "Here"  http://www.jwboatdesigns.co.nz/plans/joansa/index.htm
