Core Sound 18

The CS-18 is an open interior design with the home builder in mind. It is designed for an above deck fuel tank and less aggressive flare in the bow. These features make this design an easier and faster build and at 18.5′, it will fit in most home garages. It can be built as a tiller, side console, or center console and benches or a casting deck can be added. This hull is designed for use inshore.

The construction method used for this hull is cold molding but the gentle curves and standard transom angle simplify the build. It is available as a pre-cut jig or full size plans. The jig is made with 3/8″ plywood and most of the jig becomes the permanent structure of the hull. This includes the stringers , transverse frames, front bulkhead and transom. The temporary structure provides support during construction and is easily removed after flipping the hull.
