SILVER GULL

1n 1999, David and Pauline Latham of Sydney, Australia asked James Frecheville to restore this Chris-Craft mahogany runabout, SILVER GULL, which was built about 1941. David's family had owned the boat since 1952. James stripped the hull, and laminated and epoxied a new mahogany skin over the original framing. He then laid a new deck, fashioned an open cockpit, and replaced the original motor with a new Mercury V8. The transom fashion timbers, stem, and apron are the only original parts of the hull left, as most of the hull was too damaged to retain. James Frecheville can be reached at www.fhboats.com.au
