SARA C.

Armand Charlebois launched this steamboat SARA C in August 2004 on the Ottawa River in Eastern Ontario, Canada. Weston Farmer is the designer of the 25' x 7' 'Diana' model boat. Armand strayed slightly from the plans by strip-building the hull, rather than using carvel planking as called for. The hull is eastern cedar over white oak frames. His steam source is a home-built 'porcupine' boiler operating at 100 PSI, powered by a 5 hp single cylinder 'Tiny Power' steam engine which drives an 18" propeller. Reach Armand at P.O. Box 118, Embrun, Ontario, K0A 1W0 Canada or rachc@magma.ca.
