Captain Yo of Southwest Harbor, Maine, designed, built, and launched this sailing model of the SANTA MARIA in Blue Hill Bay in October, 2011. He writes that the carved cedar hull is 33″ long and weighs 25 lbs. He made the spars from spruce and writes that the helm, rigging, and seven sails are fully functioning.
