LILY

I had built some plywood boats before but after two weeks at the WoodenBoat School in August 2017 it was time for a more ambitious project. I begun building in October 2017 and finished LILY an year later. She is built epoxy lapstrake with 6mm Vendia boat building plywood planks and local fir and oak. Vendia is not as easy to work with as real wood but find it definitely nicer as plywood. I used Epifanes enamel paint as well as Decks Olje 1 and 2 for the brightwork.I sail the boat in Vienna on an artificial flood control branch of the Danube.
