JULES a 13′ Outrigger Canoe

JULES was launched on the island of Kauai this spring and Rob paddles her in the ocean waters behind reefs — primarily for fishing. with the outrigger, she is “stand up safe” and wonderful to fish from. Rob named JULES after his highschool sweetheart, whom he has reacquainted with after 30 years. Rob states: “throughout the three month part-time build Julie was always on my mind driving me to perfection.” Rob built JULES from plans he modified from Jem Watercraft's Laker 13, which are free plans on the net. The outrigger was modified from woodenboats’ 14′ catamaran plans. She is built with 1/4″ okumi plywood, stich-n-glue with 6 oz fiberglass and epoxy resin, with carbon fiber bow and stern and koa wood bulkheads He can be contacted at aloha@kiteshark.com.
