JOSIE

I built this Eastport Ultralight dinghy (from Chesapeak Light Craft) to get to a mooring on Sengekontacket Pond, in Edgartown, Massachusetts. It’s light enough to put on the roof of the car, and sturdy enough to store in the dinghy park.The boat was constructed using marine grade plywood, and wire holes were drilled for the copper stitch-and-glue assembly. Fiberglass and epoxy were used on the sheathing along with 4 coats of marine varnish on top. Rails and trim are mahogany and cedar.This is my second Chesapeak Light Craft boat I have built. I previously constructed a Mill Creek 13.5 foot kayak that came out beautifully.
