ISHTAR

Gorden Schweers had taken a two-week course on building a dory from the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding in Port Townsend, WA before building this modified faering with his son Guthrie. The boat is constructed entirely of woods found near his home in BC - red cedar, yew, fir, and even some hardwoods they had found on the beach as driftwood. Gorden is the lighthouse keeper for Langara Point Light Station, in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada. He plans to use the boat to explore the coast of BC. The designer for this lovely little double-ender (14'6" LOA) is Mark Wallace of Ladysmith, BC, Canada. Gorden can be reached at Langara Point Light Station, Prince Rupert, BC Canada V8J 3R1
