HONEY BEE , a 1957 Speedicraft runabout

In the summer of 2008, David M Jones of Suwanee Georgia was given a 1957 Speedicraft designed by Otis Borum of Jacksonville Florida.  The Honey Bee’s deck, transom and 25 percent of her hull were rotten.  Dave approached his Father, Morris A. (Pete) Jones Jr., of Durham, NC, with the restoration project assuring him it would take up space in his ping pong room next to his wood shop at Kerr Lake, NC for just a few months .  Five years later the majority of the woodwork was done.  The remainder of the work, including a new engine installed in 2020, was finally completed in summer of 2023 .

The HONEY BEE cruises primarily on Lake Lanier, Ga, Lake Hartwell, Ga and Kerr Lake in NC .
