COMRADE

When he was eight years old, Shaw Clifton and and his father, David, built this 8′ flat-bottomed skiff at the Toledo Wooden Boat Show in Toledo, Oregon. They named her COMRADE and rowed her for a while in a local pond, but Shaw’s interests turned elsewhere. That was four years ago.Now 12, Shaw recently took the little skiff out of retirement and after asking his grandfather, Win Anderson, how to paint on a bootstripe, gave her a complete refinishing. Shaw launched COMRADE in Guemes Channel north of Anacortes, Washington.
