CLARA

Bob Panning writes "This 12' skiff was built mostly by hand in my garage over 8 months of sporadic weekend labor. We named her CLARA, an acronym for our grandchildren - Caitlin, Leah, Ashley, R.W., and Anya. This was the most fascinating woodworking project I have ever attempted. I started in October, and she was launched in late June, not quite finished as she still needed oarlocks. We were able to paddle her around our farm pond using canoe paddles. The plans came from Richard Kolin's book "Traditional Boatbuilding made Easy." We plan to row on the Maumee River and small lakes in northern Indiana."
