ABIGAIL TIINA

ABIGAIL TIINA is built to Simon Watts’ Sea Urchin design. The boat is planked in pine. Keel, timbers and gunwales are white oak, and transom, breasthook and quarter knees are mahogany. Construction took place in my parents garage during the pandemic, where I was always able to get a second pair of hands to help out. My Dad, Lee, and I had built a boat in our garage when I was a kid, so it was a great experience to build this one together all these years later. My kids helped me out by standing on the frames as we bent them into the boat and secured them in place.
