Greenland Paddle Workshop

Make your own Greenland paddle with guidance from experienced builders using only hand tools. Your paddle will be made from clear vertical grain Red Cedar that is included with the workshop fee. With narrower and longer blades than the modern European-style paddle, many kayakers find Greenland paddles to be easier on the body and shoulders. First used thousands of years ago by Inuit hunters, the paddle's sleek design is influenced by the materials available to the early users in Arctic North America - generally driftwood. They are often used as spare paddles strapped to a kayak. Experience the difference for yourself!

$125 members | $150 non-members
