Oar / Paddle

22'4" Dragonfly

The deck around the sliding seat is a bit challenging to build. Because the boat is large and not for the amateur builder it has not had a big following and therefore we sell it only on special arrangement and unfortunately without a manual. The boat is nice to row - a good combination of tippy enough for an intermediate, yet after a few days a novice will get the hang of it. See the dragon fly at www.canadiancanoes.com - click on their custom work tab and you will see photos of the boat and the outrigger - which is the part that will be difficult to build. Ron at Canadian Canoes built two before he realized how much work it would be to make a decent how-to manual to go with the plans and with a limited market for this project he did not proceed. Having said that - if you are familiar with building canoe or a kayak you will not likely have any trouble if you want to try your hand at a new challenge.
