WOOD DUCK

After building several smaller boats in his living room, Dan Nielsen moved to a tent boatshed to build WOOD DUCK, a garvey-like design of Dan's own. Frames are Alaskan yellow cedar and Honduran mahogany sheathed in jequibita plywood. Marine-grade 1/8" aluminum held in place with 24 tubes of 3M 5200 ("It ain't comin' off!") covers the bottom of the boat. After displaying WOOD DUCK at the Olympia Wooden Boat Fair, Dan was heading to the rivers of western Washington state for some salmon fishing.
