Boatshop Workshop: Nautical Carving

In this three-session class at Maine Maritime Museum’s Boatshop, expect to learn the basics of carving trailboards and nautical reliefs with local carver Richard Spear. Students are encouraged to bring an idea for a carving, such as a house sign or a decorative relief of a ship or other marine subject. Some work will be required outside of the class sessions, and the Boatshop will be made available in the off-time if necessary.

This class meets in the museum’s Boatshop on three consecutive Tuesdays: May 26, June 2 and June 9, 5-7 pm. Class is $80 members; $85 nonmembers. For more information or to register, visit www.MaineMaritimeMuseum.org or call 207-443-1316. 243 Washington St., Bath, ME.
