Not a chance…

Just back from the WoodenBoat Show, which was fabulous.  www.thewoodenboatshow.com

One of the high points: SKUA racing, built from a design in The Rudder in 1939:

Ray Clark beating out Anne Dunbar.  The championship was won by Jim Cassidy…

So many great boats and great people.  I was fortunate enough to emcee a fantastic tribute to William, John, and Pat Atkin.  Presenters included Mike O’Brien (in absentia), Walt Ansel, Joe Youcha, Timm Schlieff, Dan MacNaugton, Ben Fuller, Jay Benford, Jon Wilson, and Pat herself.  It was a glorious occasion, and hopefully we can give you some verbatims shortly, both here and in the magazine.

And there were so many other highlights.  What aspects did YOU like the best?

We have just returned, so I don’t have access to photos, etc.  Please feel free — and encouraged — to post yours here.

Thanks, all, for making this such a beautiful occasion.  More soon….

Over to You — What Are YOU Working On?

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Dear All,

I’m off to the WoodenBoat Show first thing Tuesday morning, to aid and abet setup. Which means I get to carry heavy objects from Point A to Point B. And then move from Point B to Point C. And then move it back to Point A, where it will sit for the duration.. unless we decide to repeat the above process…

So please post details here of what wooden boat work you have been doing lately. We all want to know.  Simply click on “Comment” below.

We’ll be previewing Aaron’s Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff, which was the green hull featured in the Design Challenge ad.  Among many other wonderful wooden boats, and woodenboat people.
